Trustee recruitment opportunity

Become a Trustee

Are you passionate about supporting older people in your community? If so, you could be just who we’re looking for.

We are looking for volunteers to join the Board of a small Essex based charity whose mission is to help older people living in residential care. We connect these elderly residents with their local communities, where they can once again enjoy various past experiences or create new ones.

Do you have one or more of the following skills?

• Fundraising (or digital fundraising)
• Applying for grants and subsequent evaluation
• Human Resources including recruitment
• Working in residential care or caring for someone who has made the transition into residential care

Our Charity, My Home Life Essex Community Association (MHLECA) is the charity behind the very successful Friends and Neighbours (FaNs) initiative for care homes. FaNs is well and truly 'made in Essex’ and has had national and international impact.

The MHLECA Board meets monthly, but in a small organisation the volunteer Trustees are also 'hands on' with different areas of responsibility. We are a dedicated and friendly group with an ethos based on teamwork, mutual respect, and trust.

In joining the Board of Trustees you will be responsible for helping to set the strategy and policies of MHLECA and providing guidance and support to a small workforce.
